Accessibility statement

Contractors run their businesses from the office, the truck and the job site. This site should work for everyone, on any device, however they browse.

Our commitment

Orchestra HQ wants every visitor to be able to read about our services, understand how we work and get in touch, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, screen magnification or other assistive technology.

Conformance status

This website is designed and built with the intention of conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. It has not yet been formally audited by a third party, so we describe it as intended to conform rather than fully conformant.

What we've done

  • Text and interface colors chosen to meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and controls.
  • A visible focus indicator on every link and button, and a skip link to jump straight to the main content.
  • Every feature works with a keyboard alone, including the menu, the testimonial controls and the FAQ accordion.
  • A logical heading structure and labelled page regions, so screen-reader users can move through the page quickly.
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images and empty alternative text on decorative ones.
  • Touch targets of at least 48 by 48 pixels on phones and tablets.
  • Animation, smooth scrolling and the moving list of trades turn off when your device is set to reduce motion. No audio or video plays automatically.
  • Layouts that reflow down to a 320-pixel-wide screen without horizontal scrolling, and text that can be enlarged to 200%.

Known limitations

We are still reviewing the site. Links to articles, the free WIP template and the consultation request open pages on the main Orchestra HQ website, which may follow different accessibility practices than this page.
